About us
Perfumism is an initiative, started by Andy Tauer, supported by a decision making board.
We will not meet in meeting rooms, nor will we get paid. But we are motivated and united because we believe in perfumes and perfumery. We trust each other. We propose and discuss themes to be shared on the website, perfumes to be reviewed, interviews to be made, installations to get organized, and articles to be published, interviews to be given. Together we provide part of the content, or enable others to provide content and input.
Rebecca, member of the decison making board
Rebecca Veuillet-Gallot is the author of "Le guide du parfum", published in 1995 in its first version then rewritten and re-published in 2004 by Hors Collection. She had been trained in Grasse to be a perfumer and now runs a niche perfume shop in Paris.
She sees perfume as a true emotional expression of oneself, a link between people and considers smell as one of the most captivating and deep sense.
Elena, member of the decision making board
Elena Vosnaki is a fragrance writer, a post-graduate historian, a passionate collector of perfumes ever since childhood and the editor of the independent site The Perfume Shrine (mentioned in the Washington Times, the Financial Times and awarded in best blogs competitions). She is a finalist for the 2009 Fifi Awards for Editorial Excellence in Perfume Coverage and a published author in magazines around the world. She is also writing professionally on numerous fragrance sites. Her objective in joining PERFUMism is to get the message across that perfumery shouldn't be exploited as the new "it" money-maker, but as the only refuge of sensualists in an increasingly sensory-deprived and sterilised world.
Andy, member of the decision making board, financing member
Andy Tauer, sees himself as a perfume lover introducing Perfumism. Owner and nose of a perfume house, he considers his role to be an incubator now and to make sure perfumism starts and is understood.
As content provider Andy is equal among equals within the board. He is ultimately responsible for this website, he finances the hosting and housing and technical development of the platform. As financer he considers himself primus inter pares.
